When you first implemented blended learning, why did you choose that particular model? (has your model changed? why?)


It changed from the traditional evening school model to better engage students and give teachers better opportunities to meet the students' needs. Over time, the Skill Zones have been added.

What was one of your biggest challenges when going blended, and how did you overcome it?


Staff development has been a big part of learning the technology and new tools.

School Overview

Ben Davis High School is a large, public, urban high school with a number of education programs. The mission of Ben Davis is to ensure that all students acquire and apply knowledge, skills, processes, and values to become lifelong learners and productive citizens in a diverse society through an innovative educational program of outstanding quality. In the 2005-06 school year, Ben Davis launched Ben Davis Extended Day, an after-school blended-learning program for high school students and adult learners.
