Implementation Q & A

What's the one piece of advice you'd give to emerging blended-learning programs?

When implementing at the school- or grade-level, make sure to have a standardized format for all websites and standards for mastery-based grading. This is important so neither the students nor the parents get confused when looking at homework and reading report cards.

School Overview

The Bronx Compass High School is a place for students to learn how to use their inner compass in their secondary education and beyond. Students are placed in advisory groups and work with an advisor to set personalized learning plans. Coursework is divided into two themed semesters, humanities and STEM, and students choose which theme track they would like to follow. Furthermore, as a Big Picture Learning school, Bronx Compass requires its upperclass students to complete an internship in their chosen field of interest.
