Implementation Q & A

When you first implemented blended learning, why did you choose that particular model? (has your model changed? why?)

When Edna Brewer first implemented blended learning, the school chose a three-station rotation model that all teachers followed very closely. As the school’s blended-learning program has developed, though, many teachers have realized that the strict three-station rotation model does not allow them to work with students in the groups or time periods they would prefer. For this reason, many teachers have adapted a more flexible rotational model in which students use online curriculum and the teacher pulls small groups of students at his or her own discretion. This allows the teacher to address students’ needs more effectively.
