School Overview

Ponce de Leon High School, located in rural northwest Florida, is a 6-12 public school that serves about 400 students. In order to assist students who were unable to pass Algebra I during the regular school year, Ponce de Leon created a three-week blended-learning summer program. In this program, approximately 20 students work with a certified Algebra I instructor at the school for four days per week. During this time, students use online activities that are offered and graded by EdOptions to master Algebra I material taught by the instructor. The school is able to offer this program thanks to a grant secured by principal Buddy Brown.
