Spring Lake Magnet Center is a K-4 public school that serves over 700 students. Spring Lake is known for its magnet program in science, Spanish, and technology, which have led to the creation of a dual-language immersion program and a technology immersion program. The technology immersion program takes place in a blended-learning environment in which students engage in online activities and teachers created 'flipped' lessons. Spring Lake hopes that its educational program will teach each child, every day, the values and skills essential to a successful life.

In 2013-2014 Nebraska used the Nebraska State Accountability (NeSA) assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in reading and math; in grades 4, 8 and 11 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 11 in science. The NeSA assessments are standards-based tests, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Nebraska. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
