Implementation Q & A

When you first implemented blended learning, why did you choose that particular model? (has your model changed? why?)

We wanted a shift to a more student centered environment with the teacher serving as a learning specialist rather than an instructor.

What was one of your biggest challenges when going blended, and how did you overcome it?

Building the web based content in a manner that flowed well and maintained interests. It takes a great amount of time. Secondly, we needed to find ways to maintain collaborative work in the classroom as students began to move at their own pace.

What's the one piece of advice you'd give to emerging blended-learning programs?

It is all about preparing the content and having excellent systems to distribute information, document student work and provide feedback.
