Implementation Q & A

When you first implemented blended learning, why did you choose that particular model? (has your model changed? why?)

Our school educators believe that need to meet the students where they are, and we realize we have a lot of resources available out there.

What was one of your biggest challenges when going blended, and how did you overcome it?

Time: There is so much resource out there to improve quality of teaching, but teachers don’t have enough time. In a perfect world, teachers could teach half the day and then plan for the other half.

What's the one piece of advice you'd give to emerging blended-learning programs?

Continue to strengthen relationship with student. Never lose eye contact. Listen, listen. Create trust, so that students have ownership and confidence in their own learning.
**Stay connected**: with other teachers. That will help us stay positive.
**Balance**: a happier teacher makes a happier classroom and a better school.

Select up to two focus areas you feel that you demonstrate leadership in, and tell us why here:

Examples: Some teachers use Google Hangout & Skype to bring different classrooms from different schools simultaneously. Students will participate in person or on the backchannel communicating with one another.
