When you first implemented blended learning, why did you choose that particular model? (has your model changed? why?)

We chose the model so that we could lay equal focus on both high performing students & slow learners so that it benefits both of them and ensures their progress at any given time. It is a self paced personalized learning program (works according to the students` learning abilities)

What was one of your biggest challenges when going blended, and how did you overcome it?

Class Management is one of the biggest challenges. Our Implementation team has trained Zaya teaching assistants in a variety of class management techniques- based on the grade levels- which would help them to focus on all their students without any disruptions. The team provides hands on training and assistance to these teachers on a regular basis.

What's the one piece of advice you'd give to emerging blended-learning programs?

Focus on building a solid Implementation Model based on the scale of your project, infrastructure & resources before the program launches. Make sure that there is enough time for it in the school schedule on a weekly basis.

We Introduced our teaching assistant to the idea of a blended learning model in her classroom. Although she had good pedagogical skills, she had difficulty in managing her class with technology (forming groups and rotation) but we introduced her to a short whole class instruction session followed by a tech station.
We also assisted her on how she could best use the space in her classroom to address different learning levels while also guiding her to efficiently plan her class and transition between sessions.
She was able to do this with the help of lesson plans as well as personalized reports that we provide on our platform.

School Overview

GRACE MODEL SCHOOL was established in 2002 and it is managed by the Private Unaided Management. It is located in Asif Nagar block of Hyderabad. The school consists of Grades from 1 to 10. The school is co-educational and it has an attached pre-primary section. English is the medium of instructions in this school. In this school, academic session starts in June. School Management Committee (SMC) has been constituted in this school. The school has implemented continuous & comprehensive evaluation (CCE). The teachers are qualified.
Grace Model school has begun the program in June 2015 with teacher training and implementation of courses in Mathematics and English. School is currently using the skills-based English program and a mix of curriculum-aligned Mathematics.

Since the implementation, the school management has created the student friendly learning environment by implementing Zaya, has taken personal responsibility to improve the learning outcomes of the students by following up with the teacher to work on the feedback given during implementation .Students also love to come to school as Zaya helps in personalized learning engagement.
