Station rotation allowed our school to set a good structure to create a personalized learning model while keeping the focus at the standards based instruction to maintain accountability. As our students and teachers became more knowledgeable and proficient in blended learning, our model changed slightly by adding both lab rotation and individual rotation to create more fluid schedules and further personalize learning of our students.
Creating teacher buy-in and changing educator mindset was our biggest challenge in launching blended learning. We overcame this challenge by actively engaging our teachers in the design process, looking at data to determine what works and what doesn't, and constantly having conversations about the promise of blended learning and how it yields strong achievement and growth from pilot sites.
Strategic planing , professional development, and engaging key stakeholders in the process.
Creating implementation guidelines and policies for successfully executing blended learning spaces. Our blended learning model puts a big emphasis on data analysis and creating dynamic and flexible student groups to maximize their instructional gains. This data driven grouping and regrouping combined with fluid customized student schedules helped us tremendously narrow the achievement gap amount ethnic groups.
