Implementation Q & A

When you first implemented blended learning, why did you choose that particular model? (has your model changed? why?)

Teachers have had the freedom to choose the model that works best in their own classrooms since our first implementation of blended learning. Many teachers at the middle school are using station rotation, flipped classrooms, and flex models.

What was one of your biggest challenges when going blended, and how did you overcome it?

Helping teachers find the balance between technology and tradition methods of teaching. I used research-based best practices and feedback from teachers and students to help design balanced lessons.

What's the one piece of advice you'd give to emerging blended-learning programs?

Take the time to train teachers properly and give them the continued support that they need during the transition.

Select up to two focus areas you feel that you demonstrate leadership in, and tell us why here:

We provide our teachers with access to a coach and professional development opportunities that are consistently available at the teachers’ conveniences. The flexible coaching schedule allows teachers to get help when they need it.
