Implementation Q & A

When you first implemented blended learning, why did you choose that particular model? (has your model changed? why?)

WTA has adopted an innovative Blended Learning model for high-quality, sustainable and affordable Jewish day school education. We are committed to excellence in both Judaic & secular studies while maintaining an affordable and sustainable tuition for our communities.

What was one of your biggest challenges when going blended, and how did you overcome it?

To initiate new teachers to the WTA Blended Learning model, and supporting them in developing the appropriate pedagogy that is aligned with WTA school’s mission and vision.

Understanding that it is necessary to devote as much time as needed to help young learners become independent. Teachers help students develop skills in transitioning among stations, solving technical problems by seeking a friend's help, rereading instructions and looking for clues before seeking adult intervention and managing time.

What's the one piece of advice you'd give to emerging blended-learning programs?

Designate an administrator to monitor and support teacher using this model. Designate a staff member to resolve software and hardware issues that will undoubtedly arise. Ongoing professional development in reading, analyzing and and making use of data.
