Implementation Q & A

When you first implemented blended learning, why did you choose that particular model? (has your model changed? why?)

We decided to go with the flex model because education in the 21st century should be about learning and teaching students to be independent learners. We try to pull-in reluctant learners by teaching educators how to be engaging, and by teaching everyone how to participate in a community.

School Overview

Pea Ridge Manufacturing and Business Academy opened in Fall 2014 as a partnership between Pea Ridge School District and the Responsive Education Solutions charter system. The conversion charter school's first year enrollment was 87, and has increased to 141 in year two. Pea Ridge Manufacturing and Business Academy is a two-year, pre-college program that students in the Pea Ridge School District can choose to attend during their junior and senior years. These students participate in blended learning in their core curriculum through RES' iSchool program. The students also select one of five pathways: Marketing & Logistics, Multimedia, Health Care, Industrial Technology, and Plastic & Metal Fabrication. All students receive 9-12 hours of concurrent college credit, and all pathways are aligned with business partners and economic needs in Northwest Arkansas.
