In 2010-2011, we tried STEM curriculum. The program was very successful and we wanted to continue.
**Challenges**
Financial: bringing an online platform to a large student body.
Sustaining Momentum in a large district.
One Digital Literacy Partner Role in each school who is an expert, who can lead MakerSpace and other technology & science.
3 people in Instructional Tech & Library Services team who lead the latest technology implementation.
2 people in IT department: more technical
Report to Executive Director of Learning & Curriculum.
More students passing the AP Computer Science course.
More students do more innovative capstone projects (including technology, engineering, entrepreneurship)
Where we are now: building our system more broadly across the district. Early stage of rolling out Blended Learning at a larger scale.
What we did well?
Put on expert role in each school.
Put all the curriculum in Schoology first to set the foundations for teachers.
Future:
Start a high school by bringing all students into Schoology & do professional learning with teachers, then down to middle & elementary.
Focus Areas: Taking strategies to scale, Leadership strategies for implementation
