A La Carte Enriched Virtual Flex Station Rotation
  • Blended Learning in CMS is defined as, "...a formal education program in which a student learns: at least in part through online learning, with some element of student control over time, place, path, and/or pace; at least in part in a supervised brick-and-mortar location away from home; and the modalities along each student’s learning path within a course or subject are connected to provide an integrated learning experience." (Horn and Staker, 2014) CMS supports blended learning in a variety of ways including credit recovery and grade acquisition, extending teacher reach, specialization, supplemental online learning, and learning labs.

Components of the plan include:

school redesign.

Team Structure

District Level: Virtual Learning, Personalized Learning, Strategic School Redesign, and Blended Learning departments providing support, planning and professional development.
School level: Varies by building but may include leadership teams, Blended Learning cohort members, and teacher leaders.
Classroom: Numerous models including rotation, specialization, flex, a la carte, facilitated labs, student-led learning, supplemental online instruction and more.
