We chose blended learning to meet student needs. A large number of our students are interested in professions such as athletics, dancing, acting, and others that require schedule flexibility and the ability to travel freely for games or stage performances. We have grown to also offer course modules entirely online as students have to be away for long periods of time and are unable to attend lessons in person. These students opt to take all their coursework online.
It was hard for some students to adapt to the online platforms we use but we provided them with strong support in learning how to navigate the platform(s) and use them well.
The future of schooling is online! Schools need to adapt to students' diverse learning needs and offer alternative models of learning. Blended learning facilitates students to pursue independent research projects more easily, as well as gain experience with using online learning mechanisms productively. Our students find this early exposure very useful in college, where the majority of their coursework such as assignments are online.
We provide students with a personalized learning experience that suits their scheduling constraints in order to support them in pursuing their passions without their education getting in the way.
Dwight Global is not an “online school for the 21st century,” but a school for the future. It is committed, at its core, to being a school without limitations designed to eliminate the need to make binary choices (online/in person or day/boarding) that have historically dominated the educational landscape. Dwight Global embraces different instructional modalities — online, in-person, residential — and uses them to optimize learning for students.
