Since 2012, Natick High School has provided students 1:1 with laptops and has since been named an Apple Distinguished Program. Over the past few years as well the school has implemented a greater breadth of classroom technology to enrich academic offerings to students. For example, the school includes computer labs each built specifically for a unique use, such as web design, game design, and film production. The school also has a robotics lab, a Mac repair lab and a Virtual Reality Lab for Science.
To encourage new-age, original instructional models among teachers, Natick High School offers innovation grants to individual teachers who are eager to experiment with new classroom techniques. Additionally, strong professional learning communities and extensive professional development opportunities foster collaboration and innovation. Given this range of new equipment, knowledge, and encouragement, Natick teachers are reshaping student learning using blended learning in combination with inquiry and project based learning in numerous different ways.
